How can I help?

Second Chance Wildlife Sanctuary houses and cares for exotic and abandoned wildlife that cannot be released into the wild. At any given time, we have between 200 to 300 animals being cared for at our sanctuary. On a daily basis, all of our animals need to be fed and some of them require special medications and veterinary care. Our sanctuary is in the process of making many repairs and needs constant maintenance.

You can help us support the livelihood of these animals and our sanctuary by making a donation today. Second Chance Wildlife Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) and all donations are 100% tax deductible. Each donor will receive a donation acknowledgment and receipt. Thank you for your support.

Challenges we’re facing

Cleaning Up storm Debris

We get plenty of wind and rain, especially during hurricane season in the summer and fall. We desperately need help cleaning up storm debris that covers our property. In fact, we are still recovering from the damage done by Hurricane Charley in 2004 and more recently, Hurricane Matthew in 2016.

Rebuilding animal enclosures

We are constantly rebuilding our animal enclosures that can become damaged by thunderstorms and normal wear and tear. This is both expensive and exhausting. Any type of donation in the form of money or manpower is appreciated.

feeding the animals

Our animals need to be fed on a regular basis and some of them have special dietary needs that can be difficult to accommodate. We spend over $1,000 a week keeping our animal rescue residents healthy and well fed.

Socializing the animals

Animals that aren’t socialized regularly can become ornery and aggressive towards humans and other animals. We provide daily socialization for the animal residents at our sanctuary.

Building an Aquifer for Clean Water

Just like feeding the animals, keeping a constant supply of fresh, clean water on the premises can be expensive. We would like to build an aquifer at the front of our sanctuary to have endless clean water for our animals.

Animal Medications

Some of our animals require special medications and veterinary care that can be costly. Even just a few dollars can be a tremendous help.

Your Donation

can help me

You can help us support the livelihood of these animals and our sanctuary by making a donation of any size today. We are always seeking help to keep our animals fed and well-nourished while looking for ways to upgrade the facility and keep animal habitats in top condition. Help us constantly find ways to improve the lives of our animal friends.
